Tara Lumford will always be the little local girl with HUGE “cupcake” dreams. From the time she graduated college at the University of Hawaii till 2010 these dreams were only a figment of her imagination. It wasn’t until she got married and conceived that the dream started to cultivate.

Both marriage and motherhood changed all of Tara’s perspectives and her dreams then became important goals. on April 17, 2012 she gave birth to “Hawaii Cupcake Factory".

Tara’s interest started with a simple challenge, to make the very best red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting. Her process started with a single recipe and many sleepless nights.

Baking brought her to a happy place and she found serenity in her mixer, oven and spatcula. Tara tweaked the ingredients and married many recipes until the perfect little bite in a cup was born.

Tara is a self - taught baker, she will never claim to be one of tremendous experience, nor had the privilege to have studied the art as other people have.
